Halloween DIY Costumes & Pumpkin Carving

Halloween has always been my favorite time of the year! It’s the one time of year where you can be anyone you want to be! When I was living in Portugal Halloween wasn’t celebrated as much as it is in North America, but I quickly realized that Carnaval was like their Halloween – except it was 5 days of costumes! Can I just say AMAZING. For most of my costumes I love DIY because you can be more creative with it!

Saturday night was the Halloween festivities, and this year I decided to dress up like Redfoo from LMFAO.  A more feminine version sporting booties, big eyelashes, and a sequin blazer!  Last night to hand out candy to the little ones I was debating between 2 costumes – Black Swan or Katy Perry’s California Gurls, both which I made myself.  I chose Katy Perry’s as it was more fun loving and different.  I made this costume last year and it is probably my favorite costume to date and very easy to make!

This year I decided to buy one of those pumpkin carving kits they sell. Everyone always told me how easy they are to use, and let me tell you they’re right! This has got to be the best invention for pumpkin carving ever! I bought 2 pumpkins this year, and originally I was going to try and carve 3 ghosts – 2 on the larger pumpkin and 1 on the baby.  However that suddenly changed when I bought silver spray paint & crystals for my Redfoo costume. Since I love things that sparkle (as you can see here, here and here) I decided to bedazzle my little pumpkin!  What do you guys think?
